| Becoming a school teacher was entertainer-civic leader
Emma Cordero’s childhood dream. Emma dubbed as “Asia’s Princess of Songs”
believed then that the teaching profession is a noble duty. She also believes
that education is the best legacy one can give to his children. But God has
other plans for this young dreamer. She did not become a teacher but a singer
who touches more life children and adults alike from all walks of life through
her songs. She discovered at 5 her flair for music at a very young age. At 9,
professionally, Emma pursued her interest in music despite her parents’
rejection. |

学校教師になる事は大衆芸能のリーダー、エマ・コルデロの子供のころからの夢でした。「アジアのプリンセス オブ ソング」と称されるエマは教職は優れた職務であると信じていました。また、彼女は教育とは人類がその子供達に与える事が出来る最高の遺産であると思っています。しかし、神は他の計画を若き夢想者に与えました。彼女は、先生にならず、彼女の歌を通して子供達から大人まで全ての人生の旅人に命を吹き込む歌手になりました。彼女は若干５歳で音楽に対する自分の才能を発見し、９歳で両親の反対を押し切りプロとして音楽への追及をし始めました。 |
| Yes, songstress Emma Cordero wanted a simple life that of a school teacher but she became more than that. Today, she is acknowledged as a multi-awarded entertainer and is a respected civic leader after almost 30 years of having various singing stints in the U.S.A. and other major countries of Asia. Emma was enjoying a satisfactory career, she has almost everything she could ask for fame and fortune when she was diagnosed of a throat ailment. |

そうです、歌姫、エマ・コルデロは学校教師になるシンプルな生活を望みました。しかし、彼女はそれ以上の人になりました。彼女はマルチな才能を持つエンターテイナーとして知られる様になりました。また、アジアの主要国とアメリカで歌手として約３０年の足跡を残した後、大衆芸能のリーダーとして尊敬される様になりました。エマは申し分のないキャリア生活を堪能していました。しかし、その矢先、喉の病気と診断されました。 |
| Then came the apparition of the Blessed Mother with angels around her. She saw Mama Mary and she surmised that the apparition signified that she still has a mission to accomplish. While the priest friends of Emma interpreted the angels to be children waiting for help. Emma decided to fight the deadly disease. She had to get well and recover and go on with a new found mission. She underwent three major throat operations and while recuperating from the illness that almost cost her life, she started planning a school for the less privileged children. |

その後、天使に囲まれた聖母マリアに出会い、そこで彼女にはまだ達成しないといけない使命がある事を知りました。また、知人の牧師達はエマに彼女が見た天使たちはエマに助けを求めている子供達だと伝えられました。エマはこの生命にかかわる病気と闘う事にしました。彼女には回復後、新しい基金任務が待っていたからです。彼女は３回喉の大手術をし、返済にはほぼ一生かかる費用を治療にかけました。彼女は恵まれない子供達の為に学校を設立しようとプランを立て始めました。 |
| Exactly six years after her sighting of the apparition, in 2001, Emma decided
to build Our Lady of Fatima de San Pedro School (Formerly Emcor Star Learning
Center) in honor of the Virgin Mary whom she attributes as the one responsible
for healing her ailment. And to further honor the school’s spiritual inspiration,
she commissioned the construction of a life-sized Mama Mary statue at the
rooftop of her 3-storey school in San Pedro, Laguna (South of Manila),
Philippines. The Mama Mary shrine is being flocked by the people from nearby
provinces who offer prayers. The school, a recipient of the Consumers’
Quality Award (CQA) for Innovative Education and the Asia Pacific Excellence
Award (APEA) by the National Consumer Affairs Award Council, now offers
complete Elementary courses and Preschool. Music Lessons in Voice, Piano,
Guitar, Drums, Hosting, Classic Ballet, Emceeing and other related courses
are also being offered. Scholarship grants and free education are given
to poor but deserving and talented youths. |

聖母マリアを見てから６年後の２００１年、エマは病気の時に癒してくれた聖母マリアを称えアワー レディ オブ
ファティマ デ サン ペドロ スクール（旧：エムコール スター ラーニング
センター）を設立しました。更に学校の精神的な創造性の象徴として３階建ての校舎の屋根に等身大の聖母マリア像を建造しました。それはフィリピンはラグナ（マニラ南部）のサン
ペドロにあります。聖母マリアの聖地は祈りを捧げる為に近くの州からも人々が集まっています。革新的な教育機関として Consumers’ Quality Award (CQA)とNational Consumer
Affairs Award Councilが主催するAsia Pacific Excellence Award
(APEA)を受賞したスクールは現在完全な初等科と保育教育の音楽授業（声楽、ピアノ、ギター、ドラム、ホスティング、バレー、司会、その他）を提供しております。また、スクールでは奨学金制度を設け貧しいが熱心でタレント性がある子に無料で教育を受ける事が出来る様にしています。 |
| In between her busy entertainment and civic stints, Emma visits the Philippines
once a month to personally attend the operations of the school as its Founding
Directress. Aside from her school’s hectic schedule, other than doing shows
and concerts, she also attends Lions Club International Conventions in
and out of the country to acquire more knowledge in public service. That
is why, Emma Cordero has been tasked by the Manila Sunrise Lions Club to
represent the group in the international scene, hence holding the chair
for International Affairs, Director of the Lions Presidents League (LPL)
and also became the President of the Manila Sunrise Lions Club, District
301-A1 for six years in a row. |

彼女は忙しいエンターテイメントと民間任務の合間に月１回フィリピンを訪れます。それは個人的に創立者としてスクールへ訪れます。スクールやショー、コンサート以外に、彼女も公共奉仕でより多くの知識得る為にライオンズ・クラブ国際会議に出席しています。ですから、エマ・コルデロは国際的にマニラ・サンライズ・ライオンズ・クラブを国際部の部長、また、Lions
Presidents League (LPL)の理事長として紹介する任務に就いているのです。また、６年間連続としてManira Sunrise
Lions Club 301-A1地区の代表になっているのです。 |
| Due to her significant achievements in entertainment
and civic service, she was recently conferred with the Global Excellence Award
(GEA) for Entertainment and Humanitarian Service by the International Lions
Governor Ray Tremblay from Canada, and Filipino civic leader-journalist Jonathan
Navea representing Dr. Seiji Yii Kagawa, with former Philippine First Lady
Madame Imelda Romualdez-Marcos. Emma’s desire to do her philanthropic share in
molding the youths and the children towards better future truly burns in her
heart, thus fittingly related to the school’s slogan “QUALITY EDUCATION IS OUR
CONCERN”. |
